Fukuoka's globally famous tonkotsu chain — founded in 1960 and renamed Ichiran in 1966 — known worldwide for its rich Hakata-style pork-bone broth and solo 'flavor concentration booth' seating. (Tonkotsu ramen itself was born in nearby Kurume; Ichiran made the Fukuoka style world-famous.)
